Many of the plans POMCO Group administers have utilization review provisions requiring a telephone call to POMCO Group for in-patient admissions, home health care and certain outpatient diagnostic or therapeutic surgical procedures. This call is the responsibility of the enrollee, not the provider; however a physician's office may call on behalf of a patient.

Precertification information is supplied on the back of the enrollee's benefit card.

Contact POMCO Group for information on which outpatient procedures require clearance prior to rendering them, as each plan may vary. Any monetary penalty applied to a claim by POMCO Group for non-compliance with this program is billable to the enrollee.
