Coupled with POMCO's nationally recognized plan designs and benefits management capabilities, we've developed POMCO Rx, a fully-integrated PBM service exclusively offered to POMCO health plan administration clients.

Pharmacy Benefit Management: Much More than Commodity Pricing

The pricing differential among PBMs is relatively small, reflecting only a 4 percent to 5 percent differential on an expense that is typically 25 percent of a plan's total expense. Therefore, pharmacy pricing alone may only impact total health plan expenditures by 1 percent to 2 percent. When combined with integrated cost containment services, however, such as drug utilization review, pharmacy case management, enrollment management and customer service, the prescription drug component becomes much more cost and time effective.
